We have a new series on Sneakerjagers called: StockX-Under-Retail. In this series we are going to look at pairs that you can score under retail on StockX. Of course we will talk about the sneaker itself, but also how you can get your pair. This time we have the New Balance 990v5 ready for you.
Over StockX
StockX is the biggest streetwear and sneaker market in the world. On StockX you can buy and sell Retro Jordans, Nikes, Yeezys, adidas and many other brands. All products you receive are 100% authentic, because StockX is a middle man. The product is first sent to StockX and checked if it is real. After that the product is sent to the buyer.
On StockX you can make a bid on a product. This can be accepted by the seller, who then sends the sneaker to StockX. These bids are usually lower than the asking price on StockX. You can also buy the sneaker directly from the seller, by accepting the asking price. This way you usually pay a little more, but you will have the shoe faster.
When selling a sneaker you can choose to sell it directly, by accepting a bid, or to determine an asking price for which you want to sell the sneaker. When the sneaker is sold, another amount goes to Stockx. This has to do with the transaction fee, payment process and the shipping of the product.
New Balance 990v5 | M990GL5
The New Balance 990v5 came out on May 4, 2019. So the sneaker is almost two years old! Like the entire 990 series, all the sneakers are made of premium materials. Different shades of grey cover most of the shoe, while white laces and a white midsole offer some contrast. Mesh is used on the base while mesh takes over the rest of the sneaker. The New Balance Made in USA tag can be found on the tongue with the N logo on the midfoot. The sneaker features an ENCAP midsole and offers comfort for every day.
The New Balance 990v5 has a retail price of €200, but on StockX you can score the sneaker under retail. The price is now around €165. If you want to score the sneaker for even cheaper, then you can always make an offer to the desired price.
