Sneakers Unboxed in Design Museum Den Bosch
The Sneakers Unboxed exhibition has been brought to the Netherlands. In 2020, the exhibition was shown in London and now the sneakers are in Den Bosch. A lot of special kicks have been added and the collection consists of about 400 different sneakers. These all tell their own story.
With this exhibition, the museum tells the history of the sneaker culture. The exhibition consists of four parts: 'Style', 'Tipping Point', 'Performance' and 'Sustainability and Circular Design'.
The influence of Dutch soil is also well reflected in the Sneakers Unboxed exhibition. There is for example a Patta altar in the museum and the works of Peterson Stoop and Hagel are highlighted.
Maan Leo, who works at Design Museum Den Bosch, thinks that as Dutchmen we can be quite proud of the influence we have on the sneaker community. "The gabbers come to the fore, but also the men of Patta and the works of Piet Parra," she says in an interview with Sneakerjagers. Read more on that in our sneaker news.
The exhibition is created in cooperation with Design Museum London and StockX. For the exhibition Sneakerjagers will give away 5 x 2 tickets.
