In her 36 years in the world, we have come to know Rihanna as an artist, entrepreneur, mother of two with ASAP Rocky, and as a unique performer after her iconic performance on the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show. Of course, these are just a few examples of her eventful career, but how did she actually achieve her success?
When Rihanna was only 17 years old, she debuted her album 'Music Of The Sun' and stormed the charts with songs like 'Pon de Replay' and 'If It's Lovin' that You Want.' Just eight months after her debut album, she came out with the album 'A Girl Like Me'.
The first single from this album, called 'SOS,' was a huge international success. The singer from Barbados obtained a deal with Nike for a campaign featuring this song. As a result, two different music videos were made, one official music video and one specially made for Nike.
The variation for Nike features a dancing Rihanna in various locations. With her commercial, Rihanna put the brand on the map. Something that resulted in great success for Nike.
Businesswoman
The Nike music video was an early indication of her attraction to marketing. She further leveraged this talent in her FENTY line. Thus, she launched the Savage x FENTY lingerie line in 2017, the FENTY Beauty makeup line in 2018, and the FENTY fashion line in 2019.
Each one of her ventures became a huge success, from which she also made a huge amount of money. She was one of the first entrepreneurs to incorporate the themes of inclusivity and diversity, into her brands and products.
FENTY x PUMA
Riri, Rihanna's most famous nickname, has been considered a true fashion icon for years. Consequently, before starting her own FENTY line, she was eligible to collaborate with a major brand. In 2014, she joined PUMA's creative director for the first time.
The combination of these two brands is a blend of the reliability and history of PUMA with the bold statement designs of FENTY. The collaboration between Rihanna and PUMA led to many high-profile releases. Including the FENTY x PUMA Avanti sneakers. The latest variant features a soft upper and animal prints.

We can expect many more releases from Rihanna and PUMA in the future. In addition, the Met Gala is scheduled again in May, an event where Rihanna is praised for her outfits. Last year, for example, she appeared with hubby A$AP Rocky in one of her most iconic fits.
