Rothy’s believe that beautiful, sustainable style is the way of the future. They’re dedicated to crafting sustainable products that help them effortlessly move through their day. Inspired by the remarkable women of today. Let's have a look at this special sneakers today!
Back in 2012, co-founders Roth Martin and Stephen Hawthornthwaite recognised a lack of stylish and comfortable flats for women. They set out to create a shoe with distinctive style, remarkable comfort, and a sustainable design using low-impact, low-waste materials. Committed to building the company sustainably, together they developed the technology to transform plastic water bottles into a durable, machine-washable shoe. So, in 2016, Rothy’s was born.
Rothy’s consider every step of their production process and leave behind minimal waste. They own and operate a state-of-the-art production workshop in Dongguan, China. Here, the shoe takes a 55-step production process that handcrafts it to perfection. Their signature thread is spun from repurposed plastic water bottles. It is transformed via their specialised 3D knitting technology into sustainable and washable must-haves. Paired with recycled foam insoles and either carbon-free rubber or luxe vegan leather outsoles. Rothy’s products are made to last. When they need freshening up, they can simply be popped in the washing machine on cold! So they are also easy to take care of.
Great sneaker design meets sustainability
Two styles of sneaker are available to choose from. ‘The Sneaker’ and ‘The Lace Up’ – both featuring beautiful colorways and very hard to choose between!
One favourite is the ‘Shibori’ sneaker, featuring a gorgeous blue ocean wave colour theme perfect to pair with jeans. What do you think?
Another favourite is the ‘Spearmint’ lace up, a lovely pale pastel green colour to complement a light coloured outfit. The minimalistic design fits perfect in the trend right now. Nice colours combined with the sustainable features - so great!
