Although sneakers are increasingly leaning toward the low-profile trend, Rick Owens and Dr. Martens think differently. Following their successful 2023 collaboration, the duo is now teaming up again for an oversized collection featuring the 1B60 Pentalace Boot, 1460 Megalace Boot, and Steel Toe Boot.
They’re back
With his signature mix of dark elegance and extreme proportions, Rick Owens recently presented his SS26 collection, raw, abstract, and uncompromising. In collaboration with Dr. Martens, that energy translates into perhaps the most powerful collaborations of 2025. Does that also count when it’s about a comeback? I'd say yes.

The new collection consists of three designs, each built on Dr. Martens’ chunky Quad sole. Every pair is crafted from waxed Republic leather in deep black (naturally), with extended geometric tongues and a zipper that makes putting them on and taking them off easier. This is particularly appreciated on the 1B60 Pentalace Boot.

The 1B60 Pentalace Boot features a high fit reaching up to the knee. The 1460 Megalace Boot, my personal favorite, has a lower fit with cream-colored laces stretched across the entire silhouette. The Steel Toe Boot, as the name suggests, comes with a steel toe.
All models feature a special edition Dr. Martens AirWair heel loop.
Campaign
The accompanying campaign was photographed by Rick himself in his Paris studio and features the return of London-based, Turkish-British producer, performer, and DJ Sissy Misfit, known for her mix of hard electronic sounds with techno and pop elements and her conceptual performance style.
Owens on the collaboration: “I thought I had invented it, but I only recently realized that my ‘mega lacing’ is a nod to the boots Joseph Beuys wore during his 1965 performance, titled How to Explain Pictures to a Dead Hare. It was one of the first art moments that shaped who I am today."
“Isn’t it beautiful to realize how much power lies in what we absorb unconsciously? That mix of industrial construction and shamanic ceremony, bordering on pagan hallucination, that’s still what drives me,” said Rick Owens.
The Rick Owens x Dr. Martens collection drops on October 16, 2025, at Dr. Martens and selected retailers. Judging by the previous collaboration, this collection is expected to sell out quickly—and rightfully so.
