This Friday the 6th of November two new colorways will arrive from Sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle. The Vaporwaffle follows the same theme as the Sacai x Nike release in 2019, namely merging two sneakers. This time the Nike Vaporfly and 1983 Pegasus are merged and combined under the design approach of Chitose Abe.
Sacai and Nike brought five colorways out of the Sacai x Nike LDWaffle last year and, in addition to the Travis Scott Air Jordan 1, was shoe of the year 2019. What made this sneaker so special was that everything on the sneaker was double. The sole, laces, tongue and Swoosh were double.
Sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle
What immediately catches the eye is the midsole, split in two. This gives the sneaker a unique and striking look. Looking at the upper we see that the sneaker is made of mesh, suede and leather on the heel. Double elements have also been used. The laces, tongue and Swoosh are double placed on the upper. One Swoosh on the midfoot is made of leather, while the other looks like it has been painted on it. The Nike Sacai branding can be found on the tongue and heel.
Sacai is a Japanese luxury brand, that has been in the focus of the sneaker scene due to it's recent collaboration's with Nike. Those collaboration include two Blazer colorways and especially because of the Waffle LD x Sacai
