Nike releases two new Air Force 1 Low Luxe models for the upcoming cold winter months. The silhouette is offered in the colours 'Pecan' and 'Black Gum'. The stylish wearing of Air Force 1 Low models should thus also be possible in winter and in not so nice sneaker weather.

But before I get started and talk about the extraordinary design of the sneakers, I would like to give you the most important information. The original plan was to launch the shoe on 1 September. However, the release was postponed to 09 September 2021 and is now scheduled for 09:00 at Nike and is available for €150.

The Design
Now we come to the atypical look of the Air Force 1. The weatherproof properties that the shoe is supposed to fulfil are also immediately apparent. The new Luxe models are supposed to be winter-ready, fit tightly and guarantee you a perfect grip on slippery and uncertain surfaces. All this is achieved with a completely new design for the Air Force 1 Low.

Similar to other Nike Air Force 1s, the surface is made of full leather. The only difference is that this is tumbled leather and not smooth leather like the typical sneaker. The difference between the leather surfaces can be seen very well in the overlays on the branding and on the heel of the two colourways, as smooth leather was chosen here.
The protruding, thick rubber outsole also catches the eye, giving the shoe its autumn-weather look. Other elements that give the shoe a robust character are the water-repellent nylon tongue and the cleated sole. Furthermore, in direct comparison to a normal low, it is noticeable that the Luxe is a lot higher. This not only makes it look more upscale, but also offers better protection against wet feet.
To counteract the outdoor look a bit and still make the sneaker streetwear capable, the golden Nike logo on the insoles and at the front of the tongue provides a high-quality and elegant look.

The Air Force 1 lovers among you will probably already have noticed it: The rubber outsole and the midsole are directly reminiscent of the Nike Air Force 1 High Utility 2.0. As is well known, this has also been designed for weather-appropriate experiences.
If you look under the shoes, you can see a sole pattern that strongly resembles a tyre structure. Similar to a real tyre tread, this is specifically designed to provide grip on icy and slushy surfaces.
Now let's take a look at the colorways. The combination of pale ivory colour elements and a bright white give the 'Pecan' sneaker a creamy look that fits in well with the Autumn colours. The counterpart to this light version is the 'Black Gum', which fits well into the Winter months with its dark colour.
