On Saturday, August 5, 2023, Deadstock Sneaker Market took place in the Spoorzone, Tilburg in the Nethelands. The event attracts thousands of visitors, sneaker lovers, and sellers every year and this edition was another great success.
The Sneakerjagers team was also present and reported live from the PUMA Creative Camp booth.
Deadstock Sneaker Market 2023
Last weekend, the halls of the Spoorzone in Tilburg were filled with sneakers, clothing, and sneaker-related accessories. The seventh edition of the event came with many unique experiences, booths, and, of course, sneakers. With apparel from streetwear brands like Supreme, Palace, and Stüssy and sneakers from brands like adidas, Nike, PUMA, New Balance, and many more, there was something for everyone.
During the event, different DJs played and a relaxed atmosphere was created. Besides buying sneakers and clothing, at the event, you could also get a tattoo, check out vinyl, and you could get food and drinks at various street food tents in the outdoor courtyard.
Deadstock Sneaker Market is a Dutch initiative and has already had seven successful editions. In Tilburg this time, the event was in its fourth edition. Sneakerjagers also attended this year and could be found at the PUMA booth.
PUMA Creative Camp
PUMA came this edition with a special booth. During the month of July in 2023, the annual PUMA Creative Camp took place at The Unbound in Amsterdam. During this event, creatives from all kinds of sectors came together to be inspired. The PUMA Creative Camp came with inspiring talks by Ron Simpsons, Guillaume Philibert, Rakesh Kanhai, and Jay-Way and a unique workshop. Sneakerjagers also attended PUMA's Creative Camp, read more about it here.
Especially for Deadstock Sneaker Market 2023, PUMA brought the Creative Camp to Tilburg. The PUMA booth came with a workshop in which visitors could design their own sneaker. The workshops were led by Kees Kersten of Bespoke Sneakers (@bespokesneakers__) and Desley Mooij of sustainable clothing brand Needless.network (@Needless.network).
In the workshop, you had the chance to customize the PUMA Slipstream. Using different materials, paints, and accessories, visitors could unleash their creativity on the canvas. The Sneakerjagers team also designed their own sneakers and displayed them on the Sneakerjagers Instagram account (@sneakerjagers).
PUMA A.I.
In addition to designing your own sneaker, PUMA also allowed you to work with Artificial Intelligence (A.I.). The advent of A.I. offers a lot of room for creativity in creating and editing photos. In PUMA's workshop, you could create and edit your own photo using A.I. which led to unique and somewhat comical creations.
The Sneakerjagers team also had their photo edited by the PUMA team. In the photo, Lotte and Mats can be seen in an alley in New York in which Lotte appears to be stealing a PUMA sneaker. The other creations featured visitors as aliens or in a yoga position on a mountaintop.
PUMA Palermo OG
The third part of the booth consisted of a sample sale in collaboration with Dutch sneaker boutique BIJSMAAK. In addition to apparel and accessories, the new colorways of the PUMA Palermo OG were on display. The sneaker has a retro look and comes in a 'Silver Sky' colorway and a 'Light Mint' variant.
The sneaker is now available in various colorways at PUMA and select retailers. Check out photos from the past edition of Deadstock Sneaker Market in Tilburg below. Keep an eye on our news page for updates surrounding upcoming editions.
We at Sneakerjagers want to thank Deadstock Sneaker Market and PUMA for the invitation, and see you next time!
