PUMA continues its collaboration with French fashion house Balmain, this time releasing a Basketball shoe together. On 18 February 2023 at 00:00, the PUMA x Balmain Special Basketball shoe will drop.
Balmain and PUMA seek the balance between sports and fashion in their collections. Previously, the two released both apparel and sneakers based on traditional boxing attire. Check out PUMA x Balmain's previously released sneakers here.
Now the focus is on basketball. You could say that basketball and fashion might be a somewhat odd combination. Creative director of Balmain, Olivier Rousteing thinks very differently. He reveals that, in his eyes, basketball players belong to the most fashionable group of athletes. That is why he thinks this collaboration makes perfect sense.
The PUMA x Balmain Special Basketball shoe has obvious high fashion influences. This can be seen in the gold lettering on the tongue and the Italian leather the upper is made of. Besides this sneaker, the collection also includes varsity jackets, t-shirts, basketball shirts and caps.
