PUMA extends its collaboration with designer Dapper Dan and comes out with a third collection. The collection consists of several apparel items that pay tribute to Dapper Dan's work, including the PUMA T7 tracksuit and two colorways of the Clyde silhouette.
The Dapper Dan x PUMA collection drops on 15 July 2023 at PUMA.
Dapper Dan x PUMA
Daniel Day, better known as Dapper Dan, is a big name in the hip-hop and fashion world. The Harlem-based designer began designing luxurious tracksuits and accessories in the 1980s. His work was soon noticed in the hip-hop world and artists like Eric B. & Rakim, Salt-NPepa, Jay-Z and LL Cool J were regularly seen wearing Dapper Dan's designs.
Dapper Dan brought luxury and streetwear together and is still praised for this today. In 2022, the designer joined PUMA and the two names have already released several collections. The third collection is forthcoming and comes with striking, luxurious designs characteristic of the Harlem-based designer.
The collection pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, an important culture for both PUMA and Dapper Dan. Especially for this collection, a unique monogram has been designed that recurs on every item. The monogram combines Dapper Dan's unique style and takes its inspiration from PUMA's retro designs.
The collection comes with velour T7 tracksuits with gold logos of both names, shirts, Mac-style jackets, shorts, cropped hoodies and corset tops for the ladies. In addition, Dapper Dan has brought his iconic style to two colorways of the PUMA Clyde.
The trainer appears in a blue and beige colorway. Both variants come with the specially designed monogram and have velour elements that give the trainer a chic twist. An eye-catching detail is the storage pocket in the tongue that can be opened with a zip.
