It seems as if Nike SB is not taking a moment's rest. There are already pictures of a new colorway on the Nike SB Dunk Low, we are talking about the 'Court Purple' colorway. By the way, this is not the first time we have seen this colorway. In 2018 the Air Jordan 1 High got a similar makeover.
On 18 December we saw the Sean Cliver x Nike SB Dunk Low release and it was all about the holidays. The collaboration was extremely popular and sold out in no time. Besides this collab, there were also a lot of rumours about the Supreme x Nike SB collaboration. A lot of hype has been built up for this and that's not entirely unjustified, because the sneakers look great so far.
Besides the Nike SB Dunk, you also have the regular Dunk, but what exactly is the difference between the two? Is there a difference at all? And yes, there is! The biggest difference is probably the tongue. In the Nike Dunk the tongue is slim and made of mesh, while the tongue of the SB Dunk is reinforced so that it offers more cushioning and protection. Because it is thicker it also helps with the fit.
Another obvious difference are the laces. The Nike Dunk has flat laces. Flat laces will not survive the tricks and movements of skaters, so for the SB Dunk they opted for rounder, swollen laces that are resistant to abrasion and much less likely to wear or tear.
Nike SB Dunk Low 'Court Purple'
As we said, the colorway looks a lot like Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG 'Court Purple' which dropped in the autumn of 2018. Not everything resembles each other, because on the AJ1 the toebox was completely purple, while on the SB Dunk Low the toebox was white. The overlays that can be found on the white top are mainly black, except on the back. The backside consists mainly of a purple colour. Beneath the three-coloured upper is a white midsole with a rubber purple outsole underneath to complete the sneaker.
