The new Nike Air Max 3 Premium 'Archetype' was released on December 10, 2020. The silhouette is probably more familiar to many people today than the Air Max 90. The Air Max III series is the actual OG version of the Air Max 90. Now Nike has released the third colorway within a few weeks and has now added the 'Archetype' to the WMNS colours 'Radiant Red' and 'Concord'. The shoe will be available at several retailers and will cost 160€.
Air Max 'Archetype' - the details
This year the Air Max already celebrated its 30th birthday. Most people know it as Air Max 90, but on its debut it was called Air Max 3 and was inspired by the original Air Max from 1987. The distinctive Air elements are visible and the shoe has remained true to the OG style.
What began as a new technology experiment is now a sneaker cult. Over the years, the Air Max design has been slightly revised, but has always remained true to its style. The upper is a mixture of textile and mesh. Some more foam edges of the upper make the red colour an eye-catcher and real retro vibes!
Let's take another quick look at the history of the Nike Air Max. The first Air Max was designed by Tinker Hatfield in 1985 and was released in 1987 as Air Max 1. The first colorway was similar to the 'Archetype' in the colours red/white. Tinker Hatfield has also worked with Michael Jordan on the Jordan 3 to Jordan 15. To this day there are many Air Max models that have shaped the streets of the city and the sneaker cult. Here you can find a complete timeline of the Air Max family.
