So this week the Nike WMNS Air Max 90 (III) OG 'Eggplant' will be released. But what is the "III" suddenly here in the name and what is so special about this pair? To answer this question we have to go back to the past. Exactly in the year 1990 when the Nike Air Max 90 was first released and entered the hearts of the sneakerheads.
The silhouette designed by Tinker Hatfield is the third Nike Air Max ever designed with a visible air unit! This is why the sneaker is often called Air Max III. Good to know!
About the Colorway: Before we head to the details of the color scheme, there is a little bit to say about the history of the 'Eggplant' colorway. Like the 'Laser Blue' that will release for men on the same day, this colorway is part of the OG colorways of the Air Max 90 silhouette. In other words, with this color scheme you will get one of the first colorways ever! And the best is only just beginning: Nike promises that this release will come closer to the original form of 1990 than it has been in a long time! Nike WMNS Air Max 90 (III) OG 'Eggplant' - The details
A very plain Colorway, actually, right? White mesh base, white midsole and white laces combined with a purple mudguard and a purple overlay in the upper eyelet area. An eye-catching red swoosh gives the whole thing a nice contrast and just stands out super on the white suede overlays. A few grey details give the sneaker the final touch, et voilà an iconic, fresh colorway is complete!
