In recent years, Nike has released several retro models. And it seems Nike will now give a sneaker from 1998 a retro makeover as part of its autumn 2024 collection. We are talking about the impressive Air Max Plus 'Sunset'. You can find out everything you need to know about this release below!
The Air Max Plus, also known as the Air Max TN because of the Tuned Air unit in the sole, was designed by Sean McDowell. In 2017, he revealed that the first three colorways were meant to represent the sky in different phases: in the evening, at night, and at sunrise. As such, Sean took inspiration for the Air Max Plus 'Sunset' from the stunning sunsets on Florida beaches.
The design features a black TPU overlay that mimics the outline of swaying palm trees. In addition, the mesh panels at the upper contain a vibrant orange gradient to represent the fading glow of the sunset. Furthermore, the trainer's midsole displays an abstract image of the tail of a rising whale from the water. Finally, the shoe rests on Air Max cushioning, providing extra comfort with every step.
The Air Max Plus Sunset is scheduled for release in 2024. This is not the first time Nike has re-released the OG colours of this model. The last time the colours returned was in 2021 with the Nike Air Max Plus 'Reverse Sunset'. The exact release date is currently unknown. So make sure you keep an eye on the release calendar to be the first to know. In the meantime, check out other Air Max Plus releases like the 'Patta x FC Barcelona', 'Light Retro', and 'Diamond'!
