The Nike Dunk High 85 SP 'Acid Wash' will be released in two different colorways, as already mentioned. Both eye-catching high-top sneakers will celebrate their release on Thursday, 19 August 2021. As usual, you can try your luck on that day at 09:00 on the SNKRS app from Nike. In addition, the fine kicks will also be released at selected retailers.

OG '85 Vibes
As already teased above, the two Nike Dunk High 85 SP Acid Wash give us a few small changes to the Dunk High models most of you are currently familiar with.
As the subheading almost explains, the popular sportswear brand from Oregon presents us with the finest OG '85 vibes! Why '85? - Because the very first Nike Dunk High was launched in 1985!
Fun Fact: Peter Moore and his young team created the Nike Dunk in 1985, inspired by the "big brother" from 1982 - the Nike Air Force 1. Peter Moore is also the head behind the design of the Air Jordan 1.
But it's not just the yellowed midsole and the old OG branding on the tongue that ensure the sneakers have an "85" in their name. Let's compare the 'Red Acid Wash' with a "normal" upcoming Dunk High, then you'll surely notice some differences:
So, what did you notice?
You will have noticed immediately that the collar of the shoe at the heel of the 'Red Acid Wash' is cut much narrower than the upcoming Nike Dunk High 'Lemon Twist'. In addition, the overlays on the 85 model are not as sweeping and the Swoosh also comes wider and larger.
With this design, the Nike Dunk High 85 models come very close to the first models from 1985, or rather Nike provides us with the Nike Dunk High in its most original form! 🔥
Nike Dunk High 85 SP 'Acid Wash' - Red | DD9404-600
As the name of the two models suggests, both pairs have been treated with some kind of acid wash or print that gives the iconic University Red hue an unprecedented vintage look.
The base of the 'Red Acid Wash' comes in grey and harmonises perfectly with the red overlays. To complete the vintage look, the sneakers have been given a yellowed midsole and deliver a harmonious image with a red midsole. Nike Dunk High 85 SP 'Acid Wash' - Black | DD9404-700
The second colorway of the 'Acid Wash' models gives us the same features as the first. With the 'Black' version, however, we get a simpler and less garish colourway.
Starting with the base, the sneakers have been given a light beige smooth leather. The grey overlays also come in an acid wash look and match well with the black Swoosh.
Finally, the retro vibe of the yellowed midsole is not to be missed. Finally, the whole design is completed by a grey rubber outsole. Be sure to check out the special box that comes with these shoes in the blog post below!
