The 'Chinese New Year' pack will drop on 6 February 2024 at 09:00am at various retailers.
It may have been 2024 with us for a while, but in China, the New Year is heralded somewhat differently. On February 10, 2024, the new moon will be celebrated during the Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival. Each Chinese year revolves around an animal. In the year 2023, the rabbit took center stage. The year 2024 centers on the mythical creature the dragon.
The dragon is the only mythical creature in the Chinese calendar and represents loyalty, strength, and success. Nike also celebrates the Chinese New Year, and does so with a sneaker pack consisting of of nine new designs. We see three Air Jordan 2 Low colorways, an Air Jordan Spizike, two Air Jordan 1 Low's, an Air Force 1 '07, an Air Jordan Stadium 90 and finally an Air Jordan 38. The dragon is brought back to the silhouette in various ways.
Almost all sneaker designs show off an upper in the colour 'Sail', which accentuates and makes the details of the Year of the Dragon stand out. Each pair seems to tell a story, with the dragon as a central element that is elegantly highlighted against the backdrop of the soft 'Sail' base.
