In late September, the annual Ryder Cup takes place near Rome, Italy. In this competition, 12 American golfers compete against 12 European players. Especially for the upcoming edition of the tournament, Nike is coming out with an Air Max 1 '86 Golf 'Ryder Cup' pack, consisting of two sneakers. We can most likely expect the pack at the end of September 2023.
Ryder Cup 2023
The annual Ryder Cup golf tournament is around the corner again. Every year, American and European golfers compete for the cup. In the last edition, America took home the cup. This year, the three-day competition will be held at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Guidonia Montecelio, northeast of Rome.
Nike is celebrating the 44th edition of the Ryder Cup with a unique release. Especially for the golf tournament, Nike is releasing an Air Max 1 '86 Golf 'Ryder' pack, consisting of two sneakers. One sneaker comes in the colors of the American flag and therefore represents the U.S.A. team. The second pair comes in the colors of the European flag.
The Air Max 1 '86 Golf comes with an enlarged Air Unit. The outsole has received sturdy studs, which provide extra grip on the golf course. The Nike Air logo has been replaced with a Nike Golf logo on both colorways. A silver Nike emblem is placed on the tongue, with the American or European flag, different for each sneaker.
Notable details on both colorways, are the perforation holes on the toe cap. These are set in the shape of stars and hint at the flags of both teams. On the insoles are the terms 'Prestige. Tradition. Passion.' printed. The sneaker for the European team comes with a pull loop on the heel; it is missing from the U.S.A. team.
The Nike Air Max 1 '86 Golf 'Ryder Cup' pack is due in late September 2023. The golf tournament will take place from Sept. 29 to October 1, 2023. Check out the official images of the pack below and don't miss the release.
