Nike is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 95 with a modern reinterpretation of the silhouette, titled the ‘211’. The ‘211’ adds contemporary details to the upper, including perforated overlays.
A standout release among all the OG versions and collaborations of the Air Max 95 that have dropped this year. The sneaker’s first colorway comes in shades of gray, with (ice) blue accents and a dark blue Air unit.
The biggest change to the Air Max 95 ‘211’ is that the classic, dynamic wavy panels have been replaced with vertical textile strips. The overlay running from toe to heel still maintains its characteristic wavy curve, keeping the Air Max 95 instantly recognizable. This perforated overlay is also glow-in-the-dark.
The traditional Swoosh has been moved to the forefoot. The midsole has a slightly aged look, providing a nice contrast with the bright blue Air Max units. ‘211’ details appear on the heel and sole, referencing the upcoming ‘Family Reunion’ pack.
This pack is expected to include region-exclusive releases for North America, Asia, Europe, and an as-yet-unknown fourth location.
