In 2022, the year the Air Max 1 celebrates its 35th anniversary, Nike is making sure that fans of the model see no shortage of releases. This year, the silhouette already received many special colorways, such as the 'Cobblestone', the Kasina 'Won-Ang' two-pack, the 'Madder Root' and many more. The Swoosh has now also unveiled the Nike Air Max 1 QS 'Obsidian', which is inspired by the branding on a varsity jacket.
The Nike Air Max 1 QS 'Obsidian' features an upper composed of a mix of suede, leather and mesh. The obsidian colored mesh covers the base of the sneaker. Over the upper are overlays of suede that are navy blue in color. The mudguards are also made of suede, these again color 'Gorge Green'.
On the center panel is a white leather Swoosh placed that gives the pair a fresh contrast. The varsity jacket style detailing is found on the heel, where the purple Nike branding is in a varsity patchwork style. The white outlined, purple mini-Swoosh is also in this same style. Rounding out the sneaker is another sleek white midsole with a recycled gum Nike Grind outsole underneath.
The Nike Air Max 1 QS 'Obsidian' will be released in 2022, however, an exact date is not yet known. So keep an eye on the news page for further updates on this sneaker.
