Champions League Final, Sunday 9 pm, Estadio de Lux, Lisbon, even without fans in the stadium, the stage could not be bigger. For Paris Saint Germain and Bayern Munich it's all or nothing, the crown of European club football is on the line. Recently it's been Serge Gnabry who was cooking for the Bavarians 👨🍳
But for PSG ? Apart from the main players Neymar and Mbappe the supplier Jordan is cooking up some new heat🔥🔥. After the first Collab brought a lot of hype, the next Jordan and Paris Saint Germain collaboration is coming. An Air Jordan 4 in grey, black, bordeaux and white. Is this some kind of reward for a possible Champions League title? I don't think so. The shoe was planned too long ago. Before I give you more details about the shoe, here are the exact release infos.
Jordan x PSG Release Infos
Release Date: 1st of September 2020
Retail price: 225€
Stores: So far no retailers are known, but once we get new information we will let you know.
The sneaker also drops in grade school sizes.
Everyone should know the silhouette. The classic Air Jordan 4 from the Jordan Brand.
However the colorway is something unique. The new Jordan x PSG features a white leather upper with partially integrated grey. The "support wings" then have Bordeaux accents, which are continued at the heel.
There you will find the PSG logo in black and white, surrounded by a black and bordeaux colour scheme, that runs all the way up to the pull tap. Instead of on the heel, the Jordan branding on this version of the AJ4 is on the "tongue tag".
All in all, a very well designed colorway, which looks very nice with the PSG branding on the heel.
The background story
Looking at the colorway of the shoe, it looks like the Jordan has nothing to do with the Paris football club, except for the PSG branding on the heel. Accordingly, my first reaction to the sneaker could best be described with the Neymar Gif.
Paris Saint Germain's club colours are fire red, white and blue. Despite that, none of these colours can be found in the shoes, and furthermore there were no jerseys from the past few years that resembled the colorway in any way.
However, the colour scheme does actually make sense. The Bordeaux red and all the other details actually fit the club. The Bordeaux red is representative for red wine, which France is known for worldwide and thus serves as a homage to PSG's home country.
"Paname" is written on a small tag, which is sewn onto the white leather upper. "Paname" is the nickname of Paris and for the almost endlessly large Parisian suburbs, from which a lot of French professional footballers have already emerged, such as the likes of Paul Pogba, Kingsley Coman and Anthony Martial. But above all the superstar of PSG, the French national team and Nike Mercurial athlete Klylian Mbappe. So the tag is intended to show the affinity to the home town of the club and Klylian Mbappe.
Jordan and PSG are again delivering a top collaboration here, with a sneaker that I'd be copping immediately if I had any sympathy for PSG. And there will also be an apparel collection! Avaliable at Nike also with the 10 october!
