That the collaboration between Sacai and Nike has produced one of the best sneaker releases of the past two years is not unknown. The Sacai Nike LD Waffle came out in May 2019 and turned the sneaker world upside down. In 2020, we saw the release of the Sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle pass by. This was the little brother of the LD Waffle and like its predecessor was extremely well received. Now new images have surfaced of a black/gum colorway for the Sacai Nike Vaporwaffle.
As we know from the Sacai Nike releases, parts on the sneaker are double added. This already happened on the LD Waffle and Sacai Blazer. This theme was then carried through to the Vaporwaffle model. This has never been used on a sneaker before in this way before and it's what makes Sacai releases so insanely good. So it's no surprise that the Sacai x Nike LD Waffle was a favourite of many in 2019, alongside the Travis Scott Air Jordan 1.
Sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle Black/Gum
Like all previous releases, this colorway features a nylon base instead of mesh. This makes the sneaker a little warmer during the cold days. Over this black nylon base are black overlays of suede on the forefoot and leather on the heel. The Swoosh is also made of leather with a second Swoosh slightly underneath. Nike Sacai branding is placed on the heel and double tongue. Looking at the double sole, it is again made of black with a gum outsole.
