This year's Grey Day by New Balance is looming and the brand has once again come up with a strong line-up for 2021. On Saturday, 15 May 2021 at 00:00, a 57/40 and a 574 will be released with a traditional grey and special design.
Grey Day
'Grey Day' could be called a holiday by New Balance. On this day, they honour the grey colour that is often associated with New Balance shoes. Not least because of Steve Jobs and the many other special grey colourways in the brand's history.
It has also been the symbol of the independent spirit of the Brand for over a century. It unites our global family and is an immutable part of our legacy.
New Balance 574
The first model in this year's pack is the New Balance 574, but in a slightly different form. The sneaker has been around since 1988 and is still a very popular model. The 574 is also called an all-in-one sneaker. The silhouette is stylish and functional, which is why they are often the first pair of New Balance sneakers worn by new customers.
Now with this pair there are a few changes and one of them is a departure from the label's norm. In terms of shape, materials and ENCAP® technology, the new pair has them very much like the shoe we know and love. However, the typical branding is removed on both sides. The upper material offers the usual mix of leather, suede and mesh.
The ENCAP® and EVA foam midsoles provide support and maximum durability as always. The gold details of the New Balance U574GDY 'Grey Day' complete the special design. The New Balance 574 'Grey Day' will cost you €130 and will be released on 15 May 2021 at 00:00.
New Balance 57/40
The newer New Balance 57/40 is a follow-up version of the 574 and in this colorway also part of the 'Grey Day' Pack for 2021. Accordingly, the sneaker will also be released on 15 May 2021 and costs €140.
The 57/40 also features different shades of grey, with the darkest shade at the heel. The large "N" branding is present here and the chunky silhouette has enjoyed great popularity for some time now.
The upper of the sneaker comes with a mix of high-quality leather, suede and mesh. There are also metallic details throughout and the cream-coloured midsoles give the design an old-skool style.
