Since 2019, Liam Gallagher, the former frontman of English rock band Oasis, has joined creative forces with Gary Aspden to revive the adidas SPZL line. Football fans in the stands of British stadiums in the 70s, 80s, and 90s wore these sneakers. It is no surprise that they have revived this silhouette, given Gallagher's loyalty as a Manchester City supporter.
Now, in September 2023, they are releasing another new colorway for the LG2 SPZL, this time with a green accent. The pair will be available at adidas CONFIRMED on September 8, 2023. Read more about the upcoming release below!
The LG2 SPZL shares similarities with the Country and Samoa, two sports-inspired designs dropped in 1973 and 1977. Gallagher's third colorway for the SPZL line features a clean white base with suede panels in off-white on the forefoot and heel. In addition, the Three Stripes and the heel of the sneaker feature 'Bottle Green' accents. The shoe completes its look with a classic gum sole and a portrait of the singer on the tongue.
