Chinese brand Li-Ning has a large following in the basketball world thanks to athlete Dwyane Wade. The brand now has plans to expand their offer to a wider target group. This is also the reason for their new collaboration with skate-athlete Erik Ellington. Together they debut their very first skate sneaker.
This collection is inspired by New York City's skate scene and the style of the 90s.
"The best style is always simple. Skaters I was a fan of when I was growing up, like Tom Penny, Keenan Milton, Mark Gonzales and Kareem Campbell, didn't go out of their way to look cool. They were just doing it. When designing the Li-Ning x Ellington, I looked back at the sneakers I've designed in the past and merged the key elements to create a futuristic skate shoe"

The Erik Ellington x Li-Ning Collaboration will be available in three colorways: astro pop, polar night and tropicana. The new skate sneaker is made of high quality materials and technology. Li-Ning's BOOM midsole technology is also applied.

The sneakers and accompanying apparel will debut at US retailers KCDC, Andrew Downtown, Black Sheep, Kingswell and Humidity on 22 July 2021.
