Dior's fashion designer Kim Jones is teaming up with Nike again! Jones has been working with the brand since 2016 and has already designed a number of unique projects. For the upcoming releases, Jones has given his favourite Nike sneaker a new look, the Air Max 95. In this design, he has combined historic colours with modern technology and, of course, put his stamp on the whole thing. Kim Jones is personally very excited about his latest collaboration with Nike. His special design is a combination of technology and good looks.
'This new collection celebrates one of my favourite Nike shoes, the Air Max 95, by exploring how design can be refined with modern technology', says the Designer.
Kim Jones x Nike 'Volt' and 'Total Orange' - the Design
The collaboration on the legendary Air Max 95 consists of two different colourways. One of them is the 'Volt' colourway, which refers to the OG Air Max 95. The other look, in 'Total Orange', is in no way inferior! The whole thing is supported by suede overlays in grey, a white sole and some light grey details.
To complete the design, reflective material has been used on the heel tab and laces, which becomes visible when light hits it. The coloured air units also make a visual impact. Even the outsole has a special design.
The famous mini Swoosh on the side of the nose and the mesh upper also make the kicks special. What sets the Kim Jones Air Max apart from the standard AM95 is the Morse code-like pattern on the wavy, overlays and of course Kim Jones' name on the heel.
The upper of the shoe, which resembles mesh, is called Nexkin and has become popular especially with the Zoom Fly SP and the React Element 87. It is also extremely breathable and lightweight. As a result, the shoe can also be considered a summer upgrade.
To make things even better, the kicks come in a special box with the Kim Jones logo.

Kim Jones x Nike - the right clothes
The two sneaker releases are accompanied by a clothing collection that pays homage to Jones' interest in the eye-catching appeal of the Air Max. The clothing in the collection can be described as a luxury version of sportswear.
The collection comes in a colour palette that matches the shoes, with a focus on bold and enlarged logos. A mix of neutrals and neon colours were also used for the clothing. Jones says: 'The logo was oversized to create something as energetic as the shoe itself.'
The clothing will unfortunately only be available exclusively in the UK.
