Sneaker brand KangaROOS is collaborating for the first time with GRAMPS, the lifestyle brand of Jannik Diefenbach and his grandfather Alojz Abram. The collab combines the heritage of KangaROOS with the retro style of GRAMPS. The result: the GRAMPS x KangaROOS Hot Shot Lo. The sneaker drops in late May 2024.
GRAMPS x KangaROOS
The Hot Shot Lo is the result of an inspiring story. The label GRAMPS began as a shared hobby of Jannik Diefenbach and his grandfather, Alojz Abram. In late 2016, the duo began posting photos of Alojz in streetwear. The German grandfather soon went viral with his iconic outfits and rare sneakers.
Alojz was soon nicknamed 'Gramps,' a term referring to grandpa. Currently, the duo has over 7 million followers on TikTok and Instagram (@jaadiee) combined. In 2021, the duo launched the GRAMPS label, a premium clothing and accessories brand.
In 2023, the first collection was released that combines traditional designs with modern flair, taking inspiration from the styles of past decades.
For grandson Jannik, the KangaROOS brand has always been very important. From an early age, Jannik has been wearing sneakers from the American brand. Youth memories of summer vacations at the beach are therefore the inspiration for the GRAMPS x KangaROOS 'Greetings from the beach' sneaker.
A sneaker whose light color is reminiscent of the warm sandy beach and the light blue accents refer to the warm seawater and clear blue sky. The sneaker comes with an exclusive GRAMPS bandana and an extra pair of laces.
The GRAMPS x KangaROOS Hot Shot Lo 'Greetings from the beach' drops on May 31, 2024, exclusively at KangaROOS and GRAMPS. On May 29, 2024, the release will also be celebrated at 43einhalb in Germany.
