KangaROOS and The Rake team up this year to release 'The Negroni Love Affair'. The two brands celebrate the popular Italian cocktail with this sneaker. The kicks will be released on Saturday April 23.
The Rake is an e-commerce platform founded in 2008. The focus of the platform is on menswear, art, travel, philosophy, entertainment, and food and drink.
The Negroni is an Italian cocktail consisting of gin, Vermouth Rosso and Campari. To complete the picture, the drink is garnished with orange peel. The sneaker from this collaboration represents every element of the cocktail.
The upper of the sneaker uses nubuck leather in a light grey colour. This material represents the gin used for the cocktail. The lining and insole, as well as the heel, are in a dark red colour. The dark red colour represents the Campari. On the sneaker, you will find orange elements that represent the orange peel.
KangaROOS, along with the e-commerce platform, has focused on details. On the heel you will find embroidered Negroni glasses with the slogan 'CHEERS MF'. The three recurring colours of the upper are also on the laces that come with the kicks. To keep the sneakers totally in the Negroni theme, you get a glass, spoon and small bottle with your purchase.
