Jordan Brand celebrates Chinese New Year with extensive collection

Chinese New Year will be celebrated on 22 January 2023. The year 2023 is the year of the rabbit, according to the Chinese calendar. Jordan Brand jumps into this holiday with an extensive collection, with as many as nine silhouettes appearing, including an Air Jordan 1 Low, Air Jordan Legacy 312 and the Jordan Luka 1. The collection is expected at Nike in early January 2023.

'Year of the Rabbit'

Chinese New Year is a little different from the New Year's Eve we are used to in Europe. The festival, also known as the Spring Festival, lasts 15 days and is centred on the Chinese animal that takes centre stage that year. According to the Chinese calendar, 2023 is the year of the rabbit and this is also reflected in the Jordan Brand collection.

The collection comes with nine Jordan silhouettes, each of which has been given a soft colorway. A standout design from the collection is the Air Jordan 1 Low. This colorway combines the colours off-white, brown, light green and grey. The laces have a soft feel, like the fur of a rabbit. The pastel green hue also returns on the other silhouettes.

The Air Jordan 1 Elevate Low is coloured white with pastel green overlays. The Nike Air logo is red and contrasts nicely with the rest of the upper. We also see an Air Jordan Legacy 312, Jordan Luka 1, Air Jordan 37, Air Jordan 23, Jordan 23/7, Air Jordan 1 High Zoom CMFT 2 and a Jordan Series .05 returning to the collection. The sneakers all share the same shades in which red accents take centre stage.

A silhouette of a rabbit is stitched on the inside of the tongue of each shoe. Besides the nine silhouettes, Jordan Brand also comes with matching apparel. The collection consists of several hoodies, sweatpants and shirts that use the same colours as the sneakers. The 'Year of the Rabbit' collection is expected in January 2023.
