Update, 13 March 2026 - We have some news from Nike x Hiroshi Fujiwara for you! The enduring partnership between fragment design and Nike is set to reach a new technical milestone with the release of an experimental footwear collection. Moving away from his signature reimagining of heritage silhouettes, Hiroshi Fujiwara has turned his focus toward a "concept testing" framework.

This latest project introduces three models: the Mind-001 Slide, Mind-002 Sneaker, and the new Air Liquid Max model, each of them serving as a study in how computational data and digital design can be translated into physical performance gear.

Here is what you need to know:

The Mind series serves as the foundation of this collection. Are you familiar with the Nike Mind design? If not, head over to this article and get all info needed. In short: the Nike Mind Series, featuring a slide and a sneaker version, is based on neuroscience and features a unique design approach. They are designed to help athletes focus and recover before and after their training.

Now let’s take a look at Hiroshi Fujiwara’s interpretation: The Mind-001 is engineered for a lightweight, natural foot feel, utilising a breathable upper that embodies the sleek aesthetic synonymous with fragment design.

In contrast, the Mind-002 offers a more structured approach, providing enhanced stability through an adaptive lacing system designed to respond to the foot’s specific movements. Both models feature technical markings and data-driven branding, leaning into the "work-in-progress" aesthetic that Fujiwara currently favours.

Nike Air Liquid Max Debut

The highlight of the collaboration is undoubtedly the Air Liquid Max. This silhouette debuts a new frontier in Nike’s cushioning technology. The Nike Air Max Liquid Green Apple will debut on Air Max Day 2026! Read more here.

The model features a fluid-state Air system designed to offer a more responsive and seamless transition than traditional pressurized units. The design is intentionally transparent, with a translucent sole that puts the internal mechanics on display, paired with a multi-textured upper that emphasizes its high-tech origins.

All in all, the whole collection comes in dark tones, delivering a clean and mystic vibe. By bridging the gap between high-concept digital testing and street-ready lifestyle wear, Fujiwara shows once more he isn't afraid to look toward the future of footwear manufacturing.

Hiroshi Fujiwara Unveils fragment design x Nike Mind 001 Release

Original post, January 12th, 2026 - It was perhaps the release of 2025: the Travis Scott x fragment design x Air Jordan 1 Low OG 'Military Blue'. Now, a few months after that drop, we’re seeing the next release from fragment design surface.

This time, it involves a previously unused silhouette: the Nike Mind 001, teased by Hiroshi Fujiwara himself.

The Nike Mind 001 was introduced last year as a silhouette designed to help athletes optimize their mindset before and after competitions, hence the name of the mule. For the first collaboration on this model, Nike enlisted the help of Hiroshi Fujiwara.

The release arrives in the signature “Royal Blue” colorway, a shade that has been used across previous fragment design releases. The model features a striking, ridged outsole intended to stimulate the brain’s sensory areas, helping athletes feel more alert.

The upper is constructed from a tactical mix of all-black rubber and nylon-neoprene, resulting in a sleek, weather-resistant finish. On the lateral side, the text “FRAGMENT CONCEPT TESTING MIND 001 SP26 – MNSPIN – 832” is printed, suggesting a test prototype.

Release

However, the SP26 designation points toward a commercial release in Spring 2026. An exact release date has yet to be announced. Keep an eye on the Sneakerjagers news page for updates on this and other upcoming releases.
