A new article with a look into the future is coming up! As you know, we always keep you up to date with the latest leaks and news from the sneaker scene in our Sneaker News. This time, another exciting release for 2022 is waiting for you, it's about the: WMNS Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Varsity Red.
What makes the Kicks so special and all the details about the shoe can be found here! Let's go.
Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Varsity Red
We have seen many different materials on Jordan 1 models in the past, but the 'Varsity Red' is still special. The upper is said to be mostly faux leather with the Swoosh appearing in the soft chenille textile fabric. Chenille is a textile fabric with a velvety surface made from chenille yarn.
The Swoosh will be in the same 'Versity Red' colour scheme as the overlays. We'll discuss more details on the shoe below, but before that you can check out the kicks for yourself.

Now that you've got a first impression of the shoe, we can move on to the details. It's easy to see that the kicks come in a red and white colour scheme. The overlays are in a Varsity Red colorway, while the base is dressed in plain white.
On the side we see the Air Jordan Wings logo in white on a red background. On the tongue of the shoe, we can see the Nike label with the Swoosh in red lettering.
The laces on the mock-up are also in Varsity Red and we are curious if Jordan Brand will include some in white. The mid sole offers a nice contrast to the red overlays and the outsole, which contrasts with the mid sole in the typical Jordan 1 colourway.
So far there are no official photos and the descriptions always refer to the mock-up so far.
Release Details of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Varsity Red
Since we do not have any confirmed information yet, the release details are only rumours. However, we do know that the Kicks are planned for the first quarter of 2022. In the scene, there are always rumours about a release date of 4 February 2022.
You will probably be able to try to get the shoe via the Nike SNKRS app and with a bit of luck you will get it via Raffle. You can also try the usual retailers, either via Raffle or FCFS. As usual, the shoe will cost you €160 in retail.
There is a little something special about the sizes. This is a WMNS release, which means that the shoe will be available in sizes up to EU44.5. Kids will also get their money's worth with this release, as the sneaker will be launched in PS Sizes and will also be available in smaller sizes.
We are looking forward to the release and keeping our fingers crossed for you. Shortly before the release, you can view an overview of all retailers in our release calendar and take part in the raffles and competitions there. Have fun!
