In March 2018, Dior got a new Artistic Director and that was none other than Kim Jones. He decided to combine the chic look of the brand with various influences from the streetwear world. With his unique designs, he has started numerous collaborations with other streetwear brands. For example, Jones' first show for Dior involved a collab with American artist and designer Brian Donnelly a.k.a KAWS. But it didn't stop there, the brand has also collaborated with major streetwear icons such as Raymond Pettibon, 1017 ALYX 9SM, Yoon Ahn, Hajime Sorayama, Daniel Arsham and Shawn Stussy.
Dior x Jordan
The collaboration that really made Dior's mark on the streetwear scene was with Jordan Brand. The brands created a design on the Air Jordan 1, one of the most famous sneaker models ever. The shoe was a perfect combination of Jordan and Dior. The classic silhouette included premium materials such as Italian leather and the model was given the iconic 'Dior Grey' colour. In addition, the words 'AIR DIOR' were placed on the shoe instead of 'AIR JORDAN'.
