You have read correctly, dear community! After the COMME of the GARÇONS x Nike Air Force 1 Mid was first seen at the "Neo Future" runway show of the fall winter collection of CDG in March 2020, we can finally be happy about the release! The special Air Force also have a special motto. Because designer Rei Kawakubo believes that it is not possible to create something completely new. So we get the classic Air Force style as we love it, with some, slightly different highlights in design.
Before we look at the kicks in detail it is important for you to know that the Comme Des Garçons X Nike Air Force 1 Mid 'White' and 'Black' will be released on Friday 23 October 2020. COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Air Force 1 Mid - classic and yet so different
COMME des GARÇONS is a Japanese fashion label founded by the designer Rei Kawakubo. CDG is known for its avant-garde aesthetics with which Rei Kawakubo has made the brand a successful fashion label. In 2004 COMME des GARÇONS developed the department shop we know as Dover Street Market. In the sneaker scene they are known for their special collaborations, such as the one with Converse. But also together with Nike they have already brought some hammer kicks in the past.
The new COMME of the GARÇONS x Nike Air Force Mid will be available in white and black. So the collaborators have chosen one of Nike's most popular silhouettes. Over the years we have seen the Air Force in all kinds of colours, shapes, collaborations and styles. You can get some background information about this special model of the Air Force here.
The new design of COMME des GARÇONS on the Air Force remains true to the classic shape we all love so much, but the top of the sneakers is completely different here. The two colorways have cut out panels with unfinished edges, which gives the shoe a "work in progress" feeling. Both sneakers have a leather upper and the COMME of the GARÇONS branding on the ankle strap makes a statement. On the heel of the sneakers the Nike branding completes the whole look.
