Comme des Garçons HOMME PLUS and Nike reunite to unveil a 'Black' colorway of the Air Max 97. This model celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2022 and does so with a unique collab. The sneaker has no official release date yet, but is expected in the coming weeks of 2022.
Shortly after the release of the Comme des Garçons HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Max Sunder SP, the Japanese label now comes out with an all-black Air Max 97. In CdG's HOMME PLUS line, Rei Kawakubo focuses primarily on menswear and does so with several collabs, including with Nike.
The CdG HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Max 97 'Black' has, as the name suggests, a black colorway. The sneaker combines the materials mesh and leather. The upper is made of mesh and is colored black. The dynamic overlays run throughout the design and also color black.
The Swoosh appears on the center panel and tongue. The Air Unit in the midsole runs from the toe to the heel and gives the sneaker a modern look. Like the upper, the sole also colors all-black. Pull tabs are placed on the heel and tongue. The AIR MAX logo is embossed in silver on the tongue and heel.
The sneaker has a minimalist look and stays close to the vision of Comme des Garçons HOMME PLUS. On the midsole we see the logo of the Japanese high-end brand. The rope laces give the sneaker a striking twist.
