Celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Nike app with a week full of surprises

It has been five years since the Swoosh came out with the Nike App. In this app, you will find everything you need to get moving. You will find the latest gear, but also inspiring stories of top athletes and cultural icons. The app also features a global community of Nike enthusiasts.

Nike is celebrating the 5th anniversary of the app. On 11 July 2022, the anniversary party kicked off and for the whole week there will be several surprises to be found in the Nike App. These might be shock drops, competitions and other community events. So make sure you have downloaded the Nike app and don't forget to turn on your notifications. The first Nike by You community event has already started.

Nike By You: anniversary edition

The first event has already started. For the fifth anniversary of the App, Nike has invited three Members (Cristiana, Rudi and Lincoln) to design the official anniversary sneaker. It is up to the Nike Community to choose the winning design. By leaving the name of the designer and a hand emoji in the comments, you can vote for your favourite design. Let's take a look at the three designs.

Nike Air Force 1 Low by Cristiana

Nike Air Force 1 Low by Cristiana

The first candidate is Cristiana with her Air Force 1 Low By You design. Cristiana always pushes herself to the limit, both during ballet and when training at the gym. With this design, she pushes the boundaries of how much power a sneaker can radiate.

This theme is particularly present in the powerful text on the heel tab. The text 'You Can' confirms that you can really take on the challenges you face. Furthermore, the sneaker has a yellow leather base with leather overlays that colour off-white. Purple accents on the Swoosh, tongue label and heel tab complete the upper. The Air Force has an off-white midsole with a grey outsole underneath.

Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 39 by Rudi

Rudi

Running is not just a hobby for Rudi, but a way of life. That is why he has chosen the Pegasus 39, one of Nike's most popular running shoes. The elegant white and gold colour combination embodies the inner peace Rudi experiences while running.

The Pegasus 39 has a white knit upper. On top of this, there are yellow and gold details at the Swoosh, eyelets, under the tongue and at the lining. On the midsole, there is a colour gradient from yellow to white. To complete the look, the pair features a yellow outsole.

Nike Air Max 90 by Lincoln

The latest design is the Nike Air Max 90 by Lincoln. The sneaker is a tribute to his hometown, London, as well as his father who has been driving the iconic red double-decker bus through the streets of London for 30 years.

The reference to his father's profession is most remarkable. This can be seen especially in the red leather on the nose, the middle panel and the heel. The eyestays and panels are also red. The pair features a black tongue, laces and mudguard. There is a mustard yellow tongue on the centre panel. The white-red midsole with the black outsole complete the design.

These are the three designs competing in the Nike By You anniversary edition. Don't forget to go to the Nike App and vote for your favourite design. Also, don't forget to check the Nike App this week for contests, shock-drops and other community events.
