BAPE-founder Nigo joins forces with Nike

Japanese fashion designer and artist Nigo is teaming up with Nike. The designer worked with adidas for years, but it was recently announced that this collaboration was coming to an end. Neither Nike nor Nigo have confirmed the new collaboration yet.

The first rumors are circulating about a possible collaboration between Nike and Nigo, as reported by sources at Complex. The Japanese designer founded the brand A Bathing Ape (BAPE) in 1993 and conquered the streetwear culture with his ABC Camo print. In addition, Nigo is responsible for the clothing line Human Made and is a music producer who has collaborated with Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, and Pusha-T.

After a collaboration of around twenty years with adidas, the artist now seems to be joining Nike. The two names have never worked together in the past. In fact, Nike recently sued Nigo's brand, BAPE, for "copying" the design of the Air Force 1.

Despite the ongoing lawsuit, which was filed by Nike in January 2023, the two seem to be moving forward on good terms. It is still unknown how the collaboration will manifest, but considering Nigo's work for BAPE, Kenzo, adidas, and Billionaire Boys Club, we can expect colorful designs.

For now, the collaboration is yet to be confirmed by Nike and Nigo. We can most likely expect the first designs in 2024. Keep an eye on our news page for the latest updates.
