A few short facts about the collab: Head and designer of Fear Of God, Jerry Lorenzo, did a great job on the new colorway of the Nike Air FOG 1 in terms of materials, design and detailing. With the design of this silhouette he wants to create a fusion of the world of luxury brands and streetwear to create a futuristic vision of luxury streetwear. In our opinion, a very right and important step, as many high-end brands are now collaborating with various streetwear and sportswear brands. That's the future of Luxury Streetwear!
Now we're going straight to the details of this gem: Let's start with the big picture. The Nike Air Fear Of God 'Noir' combines a quality mesh upper with a toe-box made of finest suede. All in black of course. The characteristic details of this silhouette are highlighted by the black mesh TPU "cage" at the midfoot. The cage serves as a holding device for the thick rope laces and for a certain stability in the shoe. As you can see, the branding of the two players has been kept to a minimum. There is only a small Nike swoosh in the middle of the outside of the shoe, on the cage and the Nike logo, as well as the Fear Of God logo text on the heel of each shoe. At the heel the zipper is an important detail which gives the shoe a cool extra.
As you can see, every single feature of this shoe has been finished in black. But there are two exceptions. The Zoom Air unit doesn't stand out much, but it was used in a smoky black to dark grey tone. Furthermore, the perforated leather insole was worked with a coral tone, which completes the look of the shoe.
My conclusion
The new Nike Air Fear Of God 1 'Noir' is a very cool colorway. You can never go wrong with a completely black colorway anyway. I like the fact that it doesn't put too much emphasis on branding, as it is standard for luxury brands. A lot of cool details and a futuristic design, which in my opinion still offers a lot of room for more unusual ideas. The price here is unfortunately a little higher than you are used to from most sneaker collaborations. But that's the way it is if you want to own something very exclusive.
