Jordan brand is reaching back into the archives to revive the Air Jordan 5 'Tokyo', also known as the 'Tokyo23'. This once ultra-exclusive design, originally launched in April 2011, is ready to be back in retail after over a decade.
Inspired by Tokyo’s vibrant Shibuya Ward, the original pair dropped only in Japan, making it almost impossible to get without real connections back in the pre-Instagram era of sneaker culture. Its standout yellow upper often draws comparisons to the Air Jordan 4 ‘Lightning’, but the 'Tokyo' tells a story entirely its own.
The upcoming 2025 re-release plans to include two versions. One is faithful to the OG pair with the Jumpman logo on the heel, and the potential alternate features the classic Nike Air branding.
No official images or release date have been confirmed yet, but both pairs are expected to hit shelves sometime in Fall 2025. Stay tuned to the Sneakerjagers release calendar for the latest updates.
