Wrestling seems to be more popular than ever in 2025. After the recent Brain Dead x adidas collab, which featured wrestler Brody King, we now see another release paying tribute to the sport.
The Air Jordan 3 'El Vuelo' celebrates the connection between Jordan Brand and Mexico City with a bold, colorful design.
Lucha Libre
The Air Jordan 3 'El Vuelo' features textured overlays inspired by the masks of lucha libre wrestlers from Mexico. Lucha libre is a form of wrestling that emphasizes entertainment. Wrestlers wear colorful outfits and masks and perform dramatic throws in the ring.
The flame-like patterns often seen on the masks are incorporated into the sneaker with a snakeskin motif in the colors of the Mexican flag. Gold metallic details on the tongue and the Jumpman logo on the heel complete the design.

The sneaker comes in a custom shoebox inspired by the vibrant promotional posters of lucha libre matches. Behind the tongue of the shoe is the phrase “Más vale maña que fuerza,” which translates to “cleverness is better than strength,” referencing the techniques used in the sport.
The release of the Air Jordan 3 'El Vuelo' is accompanied by a Spizike Low of the same name. With this drop, Nike aims to draw attention to Mexico City, which in recent years has become one of the hottest sneaker hubs. Jordan Brand continues the success of the Air Jordan 5 'El Grito,' released last year as a tribute to the Mexican War of Independence.
