No matter if you are a passionate skateboarder, longboarder, fan of skate culture or just a sneaker enthusiast - everyone is welcome here! Today it's all about adidas Skateboarding in 2021.
As usual for us and also indispensable for the skateboarding culture, we show you in this post (besides cool videos and some interesting backgrounds of course) the best that adidas Skateboarding has to offer at the moment in terms of sneakers!
Keywords like Busenitz, Puig and Mark Gonzales should be familiar to most of you. From old skateboarding legends to crazy contemporary talents, adidas and its skateboarding sub-label have been able to bring some of the scene's matadors on board over the decades. In addition to many impressive promo videos that have inspired many people, some of the skaters who are signed to adidas have also been allowed to develop their own silhouettes and thus give a piece back to the culture.
But before we get straight into a brief background check of adidas skateboarding history, here's the brand's latest promo video so far, featuring well-known team riders like Silas, Busenitz and the newest member Heitor da Silva. Save it for later, if you have your popcorn or other snacks ready for these 23 minutes of pure professionalism, passion and roughness.

adidas Skateboarding Sneaker History - Since 2006
adidas skateboarding skate shoes provide a big extra portion of style on the feet of boarders worldwide. Above all, the above-mentioned legend Mark "The Gonz" Gonzales has represented the brand with the three stripes in skateboarding since 1988. At that time, there were no shoes from the brand that were exclusively designed for skating, which is why basketball silhouettes such as the Forum 84 or the adidas Superstar were frequently worn and skated on due to the suitable shape and the classic smooth or suede upper material.
But in 2006 this was to change. Skateboarding became much more present and a larger target group emerged. Quickly, from this point on, many talents worldwide were signed or sponsored with equipment for marketing purposes. Since the brand's sneakers were often popular on the feet of boarders even before adidas Skateboarding was founded, it was easy for adidas to pick up right where it left off and offer people something even better: Skate shoes that have either been newly developed for exactly this purpose or popular silhouettes that have been converted and equipped with new features adapted for skating.
adidas and the beginning of the signature models
Until 2011, several converted models were launched on the market. All of them were successfully based on well-known silhouettes for sports such as football, running or tennis. To go one better and keep up with the competition, the global brand also decided to release so-called signature models. Models made by skateboarders for skateboarders! The first one who was allowed to do this honour was none other than Dennis Busenitz, one of the first team riders from the USA.
adidas Skateboarding 2021 - The brand's current best skate shoes
As mentioned, the three-stripe brand has been developing shoes that are 100% made for skateboarding. For years now, the adidas design department has been able to combine traditional designs with long-lasting upper materials and flexible, technically advanced sole constructions to deliver one bestseller after another. Find out what this looks like and which of the brand's skate shoes made it into our current list of the best adidas skateboarding shoes of 2021 right now!
Busenitz Vintage (Core Black / Core Black / Chalk White)
Let's get started with the classic among classics! Anyone who has ever come into contact with adidas skateboarding in some way has also come into contact with the adidas Busenitz! Here comes the signature sneaker in its most original form adorned with quality premium material. The vintage version of the Busenitz comes with fewer technical features, but with materials that give the shoe a classy vintage look. These include high-quality black suede on the upper and soft smooth leather on the lining. The pre-shaped Adiprene insole, which offers you an optimal fit, also comes with a light brown smooth leather.
Busenitz (Core Black / Cloud White / Vivid Red)
Back in the present, Dennis Busenitz's signature shoe awaits us in a revised, more dynamic form. Here, the otherwise simple sneaker becomes much more skateboard suitable. Double stitching on the suede-covered toe cap ensures the perfect grip and long-lasting durability of the shoe. The extended tongue offers an extra portion of style and features the golden Busenitz lettering. The improved insole also promises a lot of comfort and a good board feel.
Aloha Super (Halo Silver / Cloud White / Core Black)
Let's move on to one of the newest members of adidas Skateboarding: the Aloha Super! A sneaker that has a lot of history in it. This limited edition signature sneaker by The Gonz aka Mark Gonzales is inspired by the September 1986 issue of Thrasher Magazine. At that time, The Gonz performed an exhibition show with his board, where he also wore his handmade "Brainwash Victim" t-shirt. Below the pictures of the shoe you can find a video with a few clips. The Aloha Super comes here with grey, and also black suede overlays, white stripes and the signature of Mark Gonzales on the heel. A nice thing with history!
PUIG (Core Black / Cloud White / Vivid Green)
Next up, Lucas Puig's signature sneaker has made it into our top picks for the best adidas skateboarding shoes of 2021. The silhouette is gaining a lot of popularity among skateboarders worldwide due to the perfect combo of style and performance! Robust materials and a reinforced lacing strip provide extra durability. The PUIG celebrates a beautiful, simple colour scheme in black and white, which is rounded off by individual details in Vivid Green. My personal favourite so far. Below you can also find the adidas Puig in a clean blue colourway! 💙
PUIG (Night Sky / Night Sky / Chalk White)
Forum 84 Low ADV (Core Black / Core Black / Vivid Red)
Our next top sneaker from the adidas Skateboarding range is the Forum 84 Low ADV. As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, this silhouette is already a favourite of many skateboarders. Now a version is to be released this month that is supposed to be even more skate-suitable and robust. The sneaker has been given additional suede overlays and a pre-shaped Adiprene insole for maximum functionality and comfort. The release date for the Forum 84 Low ADV is 25 March 2021 for both colourways!

Palace x adidas PUIG 2020
Last but not least, we come back to Lucas Puig's signature kicks. The silhouette celebrated a very special collaboration in May 2020: Palace x adidas Puig! The hyped skate and streetwear brand Palace has taken the beautiful silhouette to heart and created three unique models. Which one is your favourite?
If you missed the release, you can get the trio from StockX for a slightly higher price.
