adidas announces the Consortium Cup. The Consortium Cup is the first sneaker design tournament ever in this form. 16 iconic sneaker retailers will compete over four weeks to be crowned design champions. On 16 February 2023, the first round will begin, which can be followed on the adidas Confirmed app.
The following 16 sneaker shops are participating, Overkill, Nice Kicks, Hanon, END., Xhibition, Footpatrol, Extra Butter, Bait, Commonwealth, BSTN, Kasina, HAL Studios, Politics, Carnival, Offspring, and Mita Sneakers.
Every week there will be a sneaker design challenge that the stores will execute. The first design round will revolve around classic adidas silhouettes, the second round will be an adidas basketball sneaker design, the third round will be all about innovation in running shoes, and the finale is still completely secret. In the end, 15 sneakers will actually be produced with limited stock.
