adidas and BAPE release five-part collaboration for 30th anniversary

A Bathing Ape is marking its 30th anniversary this year and is celebrating with a new collaboration with none other than their old friend adidas. In 2003, the two released their first iconic collab and used adidas' Superstar model; the 'Super Ape Star' was born. This time, the collaboration will revolve around the adidas Gazelle model. The BAPE x adidas Campus will drop on April 1, 2023, on the website of adidas. Check out the official images here.

Japanese designer Tomoaki Nagao founded BAPE in 1993, together with fashion designer SK8THING. The then 23-year-old Nigo was inspired by hip-hop music and Tokyo nightlife. The two made about 50 t-shirts in the week, half of which they sold and the other half given away to locals to create hype. Now, some 30 years later, A Bathing Ape is one of the most popular streetwear brands in the world.

Besides turning 30 years old, the Japanese streetwear brand also marks 20 years since its first collaboration with adidas came out. To celebrate, the brands will release five different items in 2023. The series of new items will be kicked off with the Campus 80 silhouette.

The navy-colored sneaker will feature some special details. For instance, a special 30th anniversary logo has been placed on the tongue. A gold dubrae can also be seen on the laces.

The BAPE x adidas Campus will drop on adidas' website on 1 April 2023. In the meantime, check out some official images below and stay tuned via our news page.
