The story of New Balance in general remarkably began with chickens (yes, really). Englishman William J. Riley found it fascinating how the fowl could keep balance on their feet with only three toes. From this observation, the sneaker line began with shoes containing three points of support in the sole.
It took a whopping 82 years after NB was founded for the 574 silhouette to be introduced. In 1988, Steven Smith designed the 574 model as an affordable running shoe. The sneaker quickly became popular, partly due to the use of quality materials and the New Balance ENCAP midsole.
The NB model not only captured the hearts of many athletes. After its make over in the 1990s, its popularity also rose to a peak in streetwear culture, and since then you can always find the New Balance 574 on the streets. The 574 is today a beloved daily sneaker and offers a comfortable but stylisch design.
