A sneaker legend from Nike celebrated its 40th birthday in 2022 - we are, of course, talking about the Nike Air Force 1! Its history dates back to 1982, when it was originally introduced as a basketball silhouette, but today the silhouette has become a staple in the trainer world. Nike has released strong colourways for the anniversary since its inception in 2022. Today, we look back at the year and some of the special releases. Welcome to our Top 10 Air Force Anniversary Styles 2022!
Nike's Color of the Month
A number of 'Color of the Month' Air Forces were also released in 2022. These are part of the Anniversary Styles as well as our Top 10 review.
In 1984, the Colour of the Month series saved the AF1 from possible exclusion from Nike's range. Shops in Baltimore kept the kicks alive by letting people request custom AF1 colours. The sneakers in these series come with a toothbrush, which used to be the way to keep your kicks clean.
