Since December 2018, rumors have been circulating that the Off-white Nike Air Max 90 will be available in other colorways. But we had to wait a long time and the pair was already released in a 'Black' and 'Desert Ore' colorway. By the way the OG model is white!
Back to the origin - Virgil!
Virgil Abloh was born on September 30, 1980 in Rockford Illinois. His parents are immigrants from Ghana. Back to Virgil: At his birth it was already clear that this boy would turn the fashion and design industry upside down! Myths say that he screamed 'Off-White' at his birth! ?
All jokes aside dear community! Virgil first attended Boylan Catholic High School and graduated in 1998. He then completed a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Wisconsin Madison. Okay, wait a minute - I'm sure many of you are wondering how Virgil got into the fashion industry with a degree in Civil Engineering! But yes, it's even strange because he did his master's degree at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Of course Virgil passed the Master's exam - he got his Master's in Architecture!
Although he studied Engineering, he said in an interview with the New York Times that it was the humanities subjects that ultimately led him to think about creativity in a much more cultural context - not design for design's sake, but the connection of design to the rhythm of what is happening in the world'.
Off-White x Nike AM90
The Off-White™ x Nike Air Max 1 'White' was first released in 2017. Virgil Abloh secured his place as a permanent collaborator with Nike that year! Virgil also released 10 Off-White x Nike pairs in 2017! Among them, later also called 'The Ten', was the OG Off-White x Nike Air Max 90!
As mentioned before, the Off-White x Nike Air Max 90 Black and the Off-White x Nike Air Max 90 Desert Ore were released before the now soon to be released 'Red'. Like every Off-White model the kickz instant were sold out. Both pairs were released in February 2019.
By the way: These were not all Off-White x Nike models yet! There is the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1, the Off-White x Nike Zoom Fly, the Off-White x Nike Air Presto, the Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 1 but wait dear community, take a look at the following blog post:
University Red? Where are you?
The Off-White x Nike Air Max 90 University Red or 'Team Orange-Hyper Jade-Bright Mango Red' was scheduled for release in summer 2020. As mentioned in the beginning, we expect the pair in July. A lot hasn't changed to the previous models, because mainly the colorway was switched. Below you can find more pics of the shoe! If the pair will really come is still uncertain, but yes, we would be happy if the kickz will come! That's it and hit it people!
