Each season, Nike celebrates the proud history of Native Americans and the indigenous peoples of North America. The vibrant graphics of the current releases pay homage to the artwork of the indigenous people. Part of this year's collection was also the Nike Air Max 1 N7. Unfortunately, it has only been released in the USA and Canada so far, but we have good news: Now you can win the kicks exclusively from us! Nike N7 - the special story
The bi-annual Nike N7 collection always comes alongside Native American Heritage Month and this year basketball player Kyrie Irving and his own story played a part, too. The story of the rediscovery of the indigenous people, was the inspiration for the colour pattern of this year's winter collection.
N7 began years ago with a vision from Sam McCracken. Sam had the business idea in 2000 to give Native American tribes direct access to Nike products to also support health promotion and disease prevention programmes. Seven years after the start of Nike's Native American Division, the design team teamed up with various experts and community leaders to create sneakers specifically for the Native American community, called Nike Air Native N7.
From 2009, Nike expanded the N7 brand to include an entire collection, which this year included these particular sneakers:
The Nike Air Max 1 N7 in the Spotlight
The Nike Air Max 1 N7 is definitely a highlight of the collection this year! We see a silver colour on the upper and brown suede overlays on the midfoot and heel. The Native Artwork pattern then adorns the mudguard and Swoosh.
The Nike N7 branding can be found on the tongue and insole of the sneaker. Underneath the upper, a sail midsole combined with a white/black/orange outsole completes the look.
Unfortunately, we haven't had the chance to get our hands on these special kicks in Europe yet, because the Nike Air Max 1 N7 has only been released in America and Canada for the time being. If this changes next year, you will of course find out immediately in our Sneaker News. Currently, you only have the chance to buy the N7 at the Resell. Or is it? That's not quite true!
