The Korean streetwear brand VandyThePink is teaming up with ASICS and atmos to unveil two summery colorways of the GEL-Nimbus 10.1: 'Banana' and 'Strawberry', inspired by a classic ice cream parlor. The release was first showcased during atmosCon in Japan and is set to drop this Saturday at a – for now – secret pop-up.
If there’s one brand currently making waves with collaborations, it’s ASICS. Following their recent collab with Story mfg. – one of my personal favorites of 2025 so far – the reveal of the JJJJound x ASICS GEL-QUANTUM 360, and the recent Cecilie Bahnsen release, this partnership with VandyThePink is yet another hit.
The sneakers come in 'Banana' and 'Strawberry' colorways and are a clear nod to Vandy’s love for ice cream – something he previously discussed in an interview with Hypebeast. The color palettes live up to their names, featuring soft tones, fuzzy laces, and silver accents.
It’s not the first time the Korean label has drawn inspiration from food. In 2024, VandyThePink released a successful collaboration with Salomon centered around a 'Burger' theme. Now it’s time for dessert.
Release
The release of the VandyThePink x atmos x ASICS GEL-Nimbus 10.1 is a bit more complex than usual. On Saturday, May 24, 2025, both sneakers will be launched during an exclusive pop-up in New York, for which an RSVP is required. The location of the event will be revealed the day before.
