The Nike 'Shima Shima' pack was one of the most sought-after releases from 2003 and included an Air Max 1, Air Trainer and Dunk High. In October 2022, the Air Trainer 1 returned and by then rumours were already circulating that the Air Max 1 would also make a comeback. Now in January 2023, we can finally get a first look at the Nike Air Max 1 'Shima Shima' 2023, just in time for the 20th anniversary of the pack.
The new Air Max 1 'Shima Shima' will not be an exact copy of the original, but rather a combination of the two 2 different colorways from the pack released in 2003. Like its predecessor, the design features earth tones, only this time the colours come in a new lighter tone. Nike calls the colour: Plum Eclipse.
The base colours creamy and the Swoosh, mudguard, laces and eyelets have been given a dark brown colour. The features of the pack can also be seen, such as the striped lining and the iconic Japanese tongue label. Furthermore, the sneaker consists of leather with suede overlays over it.
Unfortunately, pretty little else is still known about the new Air Max. So far, we know that the AM1 'Shima Shima' will be released in the next few months of 2023 and there are rumours that it will be a Europe exclusive.
