The adidas x National Park Foundation is sure to ring a bell with you. As part of the A-ZX series, the two collaborators have already launched a ZX in 2020 and now we get three more ZX models and an Adilette, all inspired by different national parks.
The kicks will be launched on Saturday 22 May 2021, so let's take a futher detailed look at the special designs!
For the National Parks
Let's go back to the beginning: The National Park Foundation x adidas ZX 5000 'Joshua Tree' was released as "N" for National Park as part of the adidas A-ZX series and was the first sneaker of this collab. It owes its name to the National Park of the same name. The design reflects the idyllic, natural atmosphere of Joshua Tree National Park and the look was very well received.
National Park Foundation x adidas ZX 5000 'Joshua Tree'
The National Park Foundation is the official charity of the American national parks. Since 1967, the organisation has been raising private funds to preserve and protect all national parks.
Now, adidas continues with this particular inspiration and the adidas ZX 5000 'Joshua Tree' is joined by three more ZX sneakers and an Adilette. Each design is inspired by a different national park and adidas also follows the outdoor theme in terms of materials, combining rugged Cordura material with elements of leather and suede.
The adidas Torsion System is also present in the sole of the Kicks, as well as other typical elements of the ZX series and some special outdoor accents.
adidas ZX 8000 National Park Foundation 'Yellowstone'
The collaboration's ZX 8000 is, as the name suggests, dedicated to the famous Yellowstone National Park in the USA. The park has been around since 1872, making it the oldest national park in the world. It gets its name from the largest and most famous river that flows through the park: The Yellowstone River.
Visually, the theme is seen in different shades of brown and yellow on the upper of the sneakers, which are rounded off with light blue details. This captures the flair of the national park. We have already mentioned the robust outdoor material mix on the upper. In addition, there are special design elements such as the tongue label that shows the park once again and is even removable. The classic adidas Torsion Lace look is also present here.

National Park Foundation X adidas ZX 9000 'Glacier'
Next up is a ZX 9000 dedicated to Glacier National Park. Glacier National Park is located in the Rocky Mountains and stretches all the way to the Canadian border. You guessed it right: the landscape there is shaped a lot by glaciers.
In keeping with this, the ZX is given different shades of grey and turquoise that bring the icy theme across well. As with all three releases of the collaboration, we see the patch on the tongue, as well as a strap with National Park Foundation branding and an insole with a map of the park. Thanks to the adidas Torsion System in the sole for optimal freedom of movement between the back and forefoot, the kicks will also keep you comfortable on your next adventure.
National Park Foundation x adidas ZX 10.000 'Crater Lake'
Last but not least: the ZX 10000C. The model is dedicated to Crater Lake National Park. Crater Lake is the crater lake of a volcano and the central object of the park of the same name. It has a special, very deep blue colour, which is also reflected on the kicks. Again, you can get an impression of this on the tongue.
A special feature of the 10000C is the adidas Torsion logo, which can also be seen on the side of the sneaker. The blue colours are complemented by pink accents like the logo and elements on the heel.

National Park Foundation x adidas Adilette 'Joshua Tree National Park'
The final highlight is the Adilette from the National Park Foundation x adidas collaboration. In contrast to the ZX models, the shoes do not represent a specific park, but the organisation itself. The Foundation's logo can be seen on a blue base and is again accompanied by robust Cordura materials and outdoor accents.
