END. and adidas are picking up the 'Kiln' collaboration again. The END. x adidas ZX 8000 'Reversed Kiln' arrives on 1 October, exclusively through END. Where the original in 2020 was a ZX 9000, this time the ZX 8000 takes on the colours of clay and ceramics. The END. x adidas ZX 8000 'Reversed Kiln' costs €159.
END.
The first 'Kiln' drew its inspiration from the stages of pottery making: the tones of raw clay next to those of glazed ceramics. According to END., that ZX 9000 sold out quickly and became a piece of the store's own history. Time for round two.
Same palette, new order
The name gives it away. END. uses the same palette as in 2020, but spreads the colours differently across the silhouette. Sky blue, pale grey and terracotta swap places. The official colorway is Light Brown, Burnt Sienna and Chalk Blue, with style code LB8100.
For that reshuffle, END. picked a different model. The ZX 8000 dates back to 1989 and has a technical, layered upper that leans on its vintage runner roots. With all those separate panels, the silhouette offers plenty of room to divide colours. On the END. x adidas ZX 8000 'Reversed Kiln', END. spreads the three tones across those different layers.
END.
If you know the ZX 9000 from 2020, you will recognise the colour family straight away. The difference lies in the distribution and in the model underneath.
