A circular future
In 2019, adidas launched the Made To Be Remade programme, since then we have seen several collections come by. The company aims to create a world where products are no longer simply thrown away. Instead, they are made into something else and the material reused for new products.
The programme breaks the industry's linear production process. The brand believes that shoes and clothing should have more than one life cycle. Whereby the end of one product can be the beginning of the next. This way, together with adidas, you can create a better world!
How does adidas Made To Be Remade work?
New yarn can be made from the returned clothes, which can then be used to produce new Made To Be Remade products. The returned shoes are cleaned and shredded. The resulting raw materials are collected. To produce different elements of a new shoe.
How does it work?
- You wear the item until it can no longer be worn
- You scan the QR code on the item and then send it back to adidas
- adidas turns it into a new product
